Celebrating Success: 2023 Marina Boys Volleyball Year-End Banquet

As the season comes to a close on another exhilarating season, The Marina Boys Volleyball program celebrate the achievements and milestones of the 2023 season. With an impressive third consecutive CIF appearance, notable tournament victories, and outstanding individual performances, it has been a season filled with triumphs and unforgettable memories. Tonight, we pay tribute to the exceptional players and express our gratitude to the dedicated booster team whose unwavering support made this season a resounding success.
CIF Appearances and Tournament Triumphs:
The Marina Boys Volleyball Program has once again showcased their dominance in the sport, securing their third consecutive CIF appearance. This achievement speaks volumes about the team's consistency, resilience, and commitment to excellence.
Additionally, the team displayed their prowess in tournament play, emerging as the 2nd place winners at the Portola High School Tournament and clinching the coveted 1st place championship at the Pacifica High School Tournament. These victories are a testament to the players' skill, teamwork, and relentless determination.
Outstanding Individual Performances and Awards:
Within the team, several players have distinguished themselves with their exceptional performances and received well-deserved recognition. Tonight, we applaud their achievements.
Dyllan Nguyen, a junior from the class of 2024, served as the team's setter and captain, leading the way with exemplary performances in assists, serve aces, and blocking. His unwavering dedication and skill set the bar high for his teammates and served as an inspiration to all.
Miles Rodden, also a junior from the class of 2024, received the Most Improved award, demonstrating his determination and continuous growth throughout the season. His commitment to self-improvement and contribution to the team's success are commendable.
Justin Nguyen, a freshman on the varsity team from the class of 2026, received the Vikings award for Grit. Despite being the youngest member of the team, Justin showcased immense resilience, determination, and a never-give-up attitude, setting an example for his fellow players.
In addition to individual accolades, our players were recognized for their outstanding performances in the Sunset League. Dyllan Nguyen and Caiden Rodriguez received the prestigious Sunset League First Team All-League award, while Miles Rodden and Derek McMullins were honored with the Sunset League Second Team award. Sean Andrews and Cazyn Pugliese received honorable mentions for their contributions to the team's success.
